About Us
Kayak Pittsburgh is a project of Venture Outdoors and is funded in part by the Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD).
Our Kayaks:
The kayaks that are available are flat-water kayaks - they are longer and more stable than the whitewater kayaks that most people think of. We like to describe the flat-water kayaks as similar to canoes but easier to steer.
Kayaking is easy to learn and is great for beginners. No experience is necessary and most folks learn how to manage a kayak in 10 to 15 minutes.
Our Procedures:
All participants will be given basic safety and paddling instruction and need to wear a PFD (life jacket) while in the boat. Additionally, everyone needs to sign a risk acknowledgement form and minors under 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the risk form.

Kayak Pittsburgh requires a driver's license to be held as a deposit while you are on the water.
